Hendricks County Bank and Trust Announces Promotion

December 23, 2025 (Brownsburg, IN)- Jerry P. Orem, President of Hendricks County Bank, and the bank’s Directors and Officers announce John Paul Biehn’s promotion to Senior Loan Officer.

John Paul brings more than 22 years of banking experience and has completed both the American Banking Association’s and the Indiana Banking Association’s commercial lending schools. He joined HCBT in 2017 and most recently operated out of the Plainfield branch as a loan officer, originating and managing both consumer and commercial loans. He transitions to his new role, overseeing all lending functions, effective January 1, 2026.

“I’m truly honored and excited to step into the role of Senior Loan Officer. The part that excites me the most is the opportunity to continue growing alongside a team known for its expertise, dedication and consistent success,” said John Paul. “This new role gives me the chance to provide direction for the future of the loan department and help Hendricks County Bank strengthen its support for small businesses and individuals in our community.”

John Paul earned a bachelor’s degree in history and economics from Wabash College and is a graduate of Brownsburg High School. He is actively involved in the community, as he serves on the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA Board, attends the Plainfield Chamber and is a Leadership Hendricks County program alum (class of 2020). John Paul and his wife, Emily, along with their two children, Colin and Reagan, have lived in Hendricks County for 15 years, spending the last eight in Plainfield.

This promotion demonstrates HCBT’s commitment to develop internal leaders and continue its tradition of excellence in serving Hendricks County. It follows Jay Puckett’s decision to transition into a new role that enables steps towards future retirement. Jay, who has been with HCBT for eight years and led the Loan Department with distinction for four years, will continue contributing his expertise as a commercial loan officer and providing oversight to the credit analysis area, ensuring a smooth handoff and ongoing success for the department.

When asked about changes at the bank, Jay replied, “As I transition towards a position within the bank that offers more flexibility and new challenges, I am so proud to watch John Paul move into this leadership position. I have watched him grow in his current position and know he will play an even more pivotal role in helping this team expand opportunities and strengthen support for Hendricks County and beyond.”

Jerry Orem added “We are excited to announce this leadership transition within our lending department. John Paul has proven to be a valuable leader, embracing relationship banking and engaging customers to understand and meet their needs. His transition to leadership ensures continuity and innovation as we move forward. We also appreciate Jay Puckett’s outstanding leadership over the past four years and look forward to his continued contributions in his new role. These changes reflect our commitment to strong leadership and exceptional service for the Hendricks County community.”
